Davit Systems
Didsbury Engineering davit systems provide portable hoist mountings for a variety of vertical lift requirements, including man-riding and materials lifting.
The davits are portable, one davit can service numerous socket locations, quick and easy to erect and can be used with Didsbury Engineering hoists.
Standard 250 Davit System
The Standard 250 Davit System consists of a two-piece split pillar and a removable slewing jib arm with hoist mounting and chain claw bracket with a choice of sockets and brackets to meet different applications.
- Suitable for man-riding and goods handling applications
- Standard reach jib radius 1m (3’3″), other radii from 500mm to 2000mm (1’6″ to 6’5″)
- Standard split pillar height 2m (6’6″) other heights available
- Man-riding at 1m reach WLL 254kgs (560lbs) at safety factor of 10:1
- Materials Lifting at 1m reach WLL 500kgs (1102lbs) at safety factor of 4:1
- The jib rotates around the pillar in a manoeuvrable arc of 270˚ to allow optimum positioning of the load
- Pillar installation manoeuvrable through 360˚
- Integral ‘U’ bracket for suspending tube mounted hoist and chain claw bracket and eye bracket fitted as standard
- Designed for use with the Didsbury man-riding and goods lifting hoists, or standard chain block
- Chain claw bracket to carry load holding chain for submersible pump lifting operation
- Requires only minimal maintenance
- All components constructed from steel and powder coated

Wall Mounted Jib Plate
Sockets are manganese phosphate coated and oil sealed. Wall mounted jib plate zin phosphate and powder coated without an oil seal.
The stability and safety of a davit depends on the correct installation of its mounting socket. The type and size of foundation for flush mounted sockets depend on the local ground conditions.
Angled Davit System
The Didsbury Angled Davit model has a shorter one piece pillar but is designed for greater lift heights and incorporates a bracket to accommodate the Didsbury open drum hoist up to 45m, KV500 winch or chain hoist.

- Man-riding 127kg (280lbs) at safety factor of 10:1 (red handle) with open drum hoist
- Goods handling 254kg (560lbs) at safety factor of 5:1 (yellow handle) with open drum hoist
- The jib rotates around the pillar, the lifting handle on the pillar prevents the jib rotating through the full 360˚
- Integral anchor point on jib
- Requires only minimal maintenance
- All components constructed from steel and galvanised finish to BS EN ISO 1461:2009
